The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (or “the AMC”) in midtown Manhattan is the largest veterinary nonprofit teaching hospital in the world, according to its website. The AMC may be an older institution than most of its competitors, but in recent months, the hospital is, once again, fulfilling a familiar role as trailblazer.
