First lawsuits filed against Midwestern Pet Foods, Inc.

The first lawsuits TCR is aware of have been filed against Midwestern Pet Foods, Inc. for damages related to its aflatoxin recall. Both were filed in federal court in the Southern District of Indiana.

One offers a 64-page complaint can be read in full below. So far, five plaintiffs have signed on, two of whom TCR spoke with (Romero and Starnes). A judge has not yet certified the complaint as a class action, and whether and when Midwestern responded to the complaint is not known as of press time.

The other complaint is 35-pages, one plaintiff, and seems to be in need of more pages and plaintiffs.
