*Update: Elanco says “Legal action is under evaluation.” Collargate Part IV: Elanco mum on whether company is seeking legal redress, corrections to stories alleging Seresto collars are killers

Update** Following a story that aired Thursday on the CBS Evening News, Elanco Animal Health Inc. (NYSE: ELAN) has, so far today, declined TCR’s requests to comment on whether the company is seeking legal redress or corrections, clarifications, etc. to stories alleging that the company’s  Seresto collars are killers.  The CBS story, which was first reported by USA Today earlier this month, has been vigorously and widely discredited by the veterinary community, including the country’s leading veterinary toxicologists.

*Update* Speaking by phone late Friday afternoon, Elanco spokeswoman Colleen Dekker told TCR that Elanco has a longstanding policy of not discussing “legal matters externally.” However, she added on the record, “legal action is under evaluation.”
